Seven first-year positions are offered for each academic year. The academic year begins mid to late-June. We offer interview days during the months of November and December.

We only accept applications via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS)

Department of Ob/Gyn at Staten Island University Hospital has the following requirements for graduates of all medical schools:

1. All applications must be submitted through ERAS.

2. Applicants must provide 3 letters of recommendation and scores for Steps 1 and 2. There are no minimum score requirements.

3. Foreign Medical Graduates must be ECFMG eligible. Prior U.S. experience is not required.

4. We do not “sponsor” VISAs, but will sign off on any necessary paperwork. All costs are the responsibility of the resident and he/she must use a hospital-approved attorney. (Attorney listing available upon request.)

5. Deadline for applications is October 31, 2008.

Thank you for your interest in our program. The following are responses to frequently asked questions (FAQs).

Q. How many positions do you have?
A. We have nine positions in the NRMP match.

Q. Do you have foreign medical school graduates in your program?
A. Yes, we have foreign medical school graduates in our program.

Q. Are there any special requirements for foreign medical graduates?
A. No, there are no special requirements for foreign medical graduates. Applications are open to all interested parties.

Q. Do you sponsor H-1, J-1 visas?
A. Visa questions are handled on a case-by-case basis at interview. However, please note that, while we will accept several types of visas, we do not sponsor visas in that we do not pay the expenses of obtaining one. Applicants must retain their own counsel to obtain a visa.

Q. Are there minimum board score requirements for applicants?
A. No, there are no minimum board score requirements.

Q. Do you require US clinical experience?
A. No. For PGY1 positions, we do not.

Q. Does it matter when an applicant graduates from medical school?
A. No, it does not.

Q. What is the deadline for applications?
A. The final deadline is November 10, 2008 but we would prefer to receive your application by the beginning of November.

OBGYN Residency Program at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. Our 4-year Gynecology and Obstetrics Program is both rigorous and competitive. Each year, we receive more than 300+ applications, interview 60 candidates, and offer 5 PGYI positions.

We will begin accepting applications for 2009 in September 2008 through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) only. In the ERAS system, our program is listed as “UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway.”


• The deadline for applications is November 1, 2008.
• Minimum Scores = PASSING (We do not have any particular USMLE score at which we do/do not grant an interview, but obviously those with the best scores have a best chance of getting invited. Thus it is advantageous to have competitive scores).

Aultman Hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program requires no minimum score, no clinical experience within the U.S. prior to residency, and no limit on the number of years from graduation. J1 and H1B visas are sponsored, and the program currently has foreign medical graduates as residents.

Applications are accepted via ERAS only, and the application deadline is December 31st. Interviews will be held from late October until early February.

Please keep in mind that while we do not have established minimum requirements in some of the
above categories in order to apply, there are cut-offs established each year, based on the
applicant pool, which will determine those that are offered interviews. Typically, any USMLE
failures will greatly decrease your chance to be offered an interview. To answer some of the

We offer three (3) positions each year and receive approximately 200-250 applications.
